New Technology
The district is studying technology for our schools. Who can tell them better than a teacher what our needs are? What advice would you offer the district regarding this?
We need a forward-thinking plan for incorporating technology into our curriculum. At Hempstead, we have tech sessions and teachers have done a nice job of using those ideas and incorporating them into classroom practice, but I think we also need specific tech curriculum writing in each of our departments. At the district level too, I feel like we need to move forward more quickly. Don't get me wrong, I am pleased that I will be getting a teacher laptop next year, but I would like to know the overriding plan for staff development in this area. And I'm afraid there, ah, ISN'T one.
