I would like to use the communication tools that my students use, such as blogging, to encourage my students to do more writing. WAC can help me with this by providing technical support and new ideas for using technology-based writing.
I would like to have students write about what they learned that day to help them to think about what the goal was for the lesson and to see what they took away from lesson.
My main goal for this year is to try to use technology, such as blogging, to enhance my students' writing experiences. I believe WAC can help me with this by providing support from those of you that have done this already.
I would also like to incorporate more technology and I believe WAC meetings throughout the year will help me achieve that. I would also like to be more consistent when it comes to planning writing into my curriculum. I tend to run out of gas so to speak and revert to old ways.
I hope to be able to get the students to do some writing in response to a question that I will have on the board. The working in rooms without computers I will have to work with hand written papers.
I LOVE the idea of collaborating on various projects/technology venues. One goal I have this year is for all of my students to create an electronic book--via Bookemon. I want to use the website differently with each of my preps...determine the strengths and weaknesses of each assignment. I also want my students to spend more time on setting writing goals and self-assessing their progress as writers. WAC will definitely help in the collaborative process, as all of us are learning and growing as writers and teachers.
I want to continue to use My Access effectively and not lazily. I'll have to spend more time on the computer to accomplish this. I also hope to use Bookemon with my Accommodations students and Prezi with my 1-2 students. Basically, I want to improve my use of technology with my students.
I would like to continue to use Ning free of charge...I guess I will have to start collecting cans to help pay the monthly bill. Actually, I really enjoy Ning and want to utilize it more and hopefully learn more about it from others.
I have two goals for this year: one modern and one ancient. First of all, I want to continue my quest in the tech world so that I can keep apace with my students' literacy. Secondly, I want to return more frequently to the basics of writing with pen and paper by combining the concept of journals and learning logs. For both, I aim to establish writing as a matter of casual habit and formative assessment.

ReplyDeleteWriting goals will remain the same; avenues to get there will be different. I plan on trying out bookemon and prezi. Awesome.
